Boot halts after ILO F8 prompt with USB ISDN TA attached

Hello,
The server is an ML370 G3 ROM 2003.01.08
with ILO ROM 1.20a. The server fails to boot and halts just after the ILO F8 prompt when an Hayes USB ISDN TA is attached to the USB port of the server. If the USB TA is disconnected and the server restarted the boot process is successful.
Has anyone seen this problem before?

Thanks in advance

Gary,

Have you seen this link regarding USB support on the Proliants?
Have you tried a different USB device to see if the POST completes?

USB based modems are not supported. The only Supported products are the mouse, keyboard, floppy and CD-ROM. You can find the USB info here:

Thank's for the speedy response. It makes sense now.
I haven't tried any other USB devices yet, I will be better off switching to a serial TA instead.
Thank's again.

Actually modems are supported, just not before the os is loaded. Legacy support and standard support. The server shouldnt hang just because a modem is attached to the USB port.

I have a modem attached to USB port also, a Zyxel 56k plus. I have no trouble booting, but i can however not get the driver installed for it.
