Booting from pcie m.2 ssd on ml30 g10
I'm wondering if I can manage to install an m.2 nvme card with a pcie adapter and boot from it on ml30 gen10.
For example using m.2:
-Samsung 970 EVO 2TB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7E2T0BW)
Or Sabrent 2TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD High Performance Solid State Drive (SB-ROCKET-2TB)
Using pcie adapters:
-EZDIY-FAB PCI Express M.2 NGFF PCI-E SSD to PCIe 3.0 x4 Host Adapter Card with Heatsink Cooler- Support M.2 PCIe (NVMe or AHCI) Type 22110,2280, 2260, 2242

Re: Booting from pcie m.2 ssd on ml30 g10
Greetings!
Yes, you can boot from M.2 drives.
The server also has Onboard M.2 slot with NVMe SSD support.
Use the M.2 connector on the system board or on the optional M.2/dedicated iLO/serial port enablement
board to install an M.2 SSD on the server.
Use the embedded HPE Smart Array S100i SR Gen10 Controller to manage the M.2 SATA SSDs. The
S100i SR Gen10 SW RAID support requires that the server boot mode be set to UEFI.

Both hardware are compatible & both are bootable in either configuration (on board m.2 or with pcie adapter)?
Thanks,

there is no M.2 slot on a G7 or G8 MB controller.
