C 7000 Blade enclosure - Only 1 blade sees the SAN
Hi there,
We have a C-7000 blade enclosure and an EVA8100. I can only see 1 wwn (from the blade enclosure) at the Broccade switches - the first server we built with an HBA. We are using a virtual connect and virtual WWNs. We have 1 fiber cable running from each of the 2 virtual connect modules and into the SAN's Broccade switches.
I'm sure that I have just missed something ... but I don't exactly know where to look. Would be pleased to hear any ideas.

Re: C 7000 Blade enclosure - Only 1 blade sees the SAN
Well ...
There is lot places to look but check these.
- VC profiles for servers (IS SAN specified)
- Zoning in SAN switches
Or You have only one SAN attached server and from that only one WWN is shown ??
Have You created 2 separate SAN (one for each VC-FC) ? Is the SAN switch ports in NPIV mode ?

Re: C 7000 Blade enclosure - Only 1 blade sees the SAN
Hey Jarkko K,
Thanks for replying ...
VC profiles for servers (IS SAN specified)
- Yup the SAN is specified
Zoning in SAN switches
- I can't Zone till the switch picks up the WWN
Or You have only one SAN attached server and from that only one WWN is shown
- At this point I have 2 SAN attached blades - or at least 2 built blades with HBAs.
Only 1 WWN from the enclosure is showing on each switch. I have WWNs for the HBA in the 2nd server but no WWNs from that HBA show up on the switches.
Have You created 2 separate SAN (one for each VC-FC)?
- Yes one is named SAN 3 and one is SAN 4. One module is connected via fiber cable to one switch and one to the other.
Is the SAN switch ports in NPIV mode ?
- Yup
