CANNOT EXPAND ARRAY-DL180 G6 server

Hello,

I have a DL180 G6 server with 3 x 2TB disks configured as a RAID5.

I want to expand this array with 4th 2TB and have a 5th 2TB disk as a hotspare. All drives are the same size and model and the 2 new drives are unassigned.

Using the HP Auto Config Utility (ACU) (v8.30.5.0) it does not give me the option to expand the original array.

When I run the diagnostic report from the ACU, it informs me that the "Expand Not Needed" and the Status is "Informational".

Can you help please?

What kind of controller do you have?
Not all controllers support raid expansion. You probably need to buy the bbwc module to enable this feature.
