Problem is: it keeps doing it over and over and over again. I've left it running for 15 minutes before giving up on it.

I can get it stopped by going into Task Manager and stopping it, but I canтАЩt find the reason for it to continually try to install.

I've tried going into Task Manager and "Go to process".

I've tried going into Task Manager and killing what seems to be causing it.

I've tried going into Device Manager to see if it was trying to show it there.

Any ideas?

Re: COMPAQ Virtual Lun

Thank you. I will give it a try. We had already tried to reinstall the HP smart start Cd, but will give the floppy a try.

Thanks, again.

Re: COMPAQ Virtual Lun

By installing the Smartstart CD I presume you mean you reinstalled the Proliant Support Pack. The latest version is 7.40, but it no longer includes the driver from the Integrated Smart Array Controller due to it's age. You have to download it separately or use a much older Proliant Support Pack. If downloaded, it is available from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1122.html#32.

However, you may also have to perform firmware upgrades, especially for the Integrated Smart Array Controller. You can get it from http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/locate/20_1122.html#95
