CPQACPWR.NLM conflict with Toolbox Shutdown

Netware 6.0SP2 - DL360G3 - CPQmgmt version 6.20a.

We try to reboot servers overnight with shutdown -fqs, processed via toolbox - but according to portal/norm CPQACPWR.NLM (1.04)has registered the command shutdown therefore the toolbox command is not processed. (Didn't happen with different server running 1.03 version)- any thoughts comments (eg unload CPQACPWR first ... what does the CPQACPWR shutdown do - how can it be activated, what's its syntax etc etc)

Any help appreciated

Regards

Re: CPQACPWR.NLM conflict with Toolbox Shutdown

Hi Stewart;

The problem is actually with CPQACPI.PSM version 1.04 which works in conjunction with CPQACPWR and others.

Until version 1.05 is released in the next NWCSP, HP recommends backrevving to CPQACPI.PSM 1.03 which can be found in NWCSP 6.0 at http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/15129.html

Dependent modules are

CPQASL.NLM
CPQACA.NLM
CPQACMGR.NLM
CPQACPWR.NLM

and should be downgraded from the same NWCSP as well.

Cheers,

Janine

oops - left out the "what does it do" part...

The following link, though documentation for CPQACPI 1.04, explains it:

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/revision/5727.html

You can also download 1.03 from the revision history link on this page.

Re: CPQACPWR.NLM conflict with Toolbox Shutdown

Janine,
Thanks for your responses - we will revert to earlier revs (which will hopefully fix the strange processor usage we are seeing too...)

I'm puzzled about what will happen in 1.05. The link you gave in your response talks about powering a server down - but we are wanting to "bounce" a server (ie down & auto restart) - not leave it powered down ....

Could you confirm that the CPQ shutdown command - will bounce the server ? If not could you advise how to get that functionality as the toolbox shutdown would seem to be unavailable ? We use toolbox shutdown because it allows the server to be forced down (in unattended mode) even if files are open.

Thanks for your help
