CPU Fan Question

This may sound a tad stupid but I had to replace my CPU fan. While installing the new fan I was caught with the problem of not knowing which direction the air flow is supposed to go. Air flow facing in or air flow facing out. This is regarding a Proliant 1600. I have found no documentation on this subject, anywhere.

If this is not the correct section of the forums for this question I'm sorry. Could you please point me to the correct section so I can get this resolved ASAP.

Thank you kindly.

Re: CPU Fan Question

You want the CPU fan pushing the air out the back of the server. There should be an arrow showing the airflow direction on the fan (most models have this), make sure you point this out.
Enjoy!
