We have a DL380 G5 server (p/n:433527-B21) which originally shipped with a single Quad-core E5310 Intel processor. I would like to upgrade the server to a single (remove the existing CPU) Quad-core E5450 Intel processor with p/n 437940-B21.
Would this be possible?
Thanks in advance.
Regards, T.

Re: CPU Upgrade for DL380 G5
I've had a look at the link you've provided and the quickspecs do list both processors. Is it just a matter of choosing any processor on that list and installing it?
Thanks, T

Re: CPU Upgrade for DL380 G5
my personal opinion is :
it should work, but you should call to HP support to have this garantie.
You are going to upgrade :
from :
Quad-Core Intel├В┬о Xeon├В┬о Processor E5310 (1.60 GHz, 80 Watts, 1066 FSB)
to :
Quad-Core Intel├В┬о Xeon├В┬о Processor E5450 (3.00 GHz, 80 Watts, 1333 FSB)
the FSB is differnet 1066 => 1333
