CPU change on ML350 G5 - DC to QC
I would like to swap the Xeon DC 5060 (3,2 GHz, 130 Watt, 1066 FSB) on my single CPU ML350 G5, with a less power consuming CPU without replacing the heat-think and VRM.
Possible candidates:
- QC E5405 (2,00 GHz, 80 Watt, 1333 FSB)
- DC 5130 (2,00 GHz, 65 Watt, 1333 FSB)
Will this be possible ?

Re: CPU change on ML350 G5 - DC to QC
Hello,
If you buy the original options numbers for the 350G5 it will include both the HS and VRM parts.
It should not be a problem.

Re: CPU change on ML350 G5 - DC to QC
Hi Rene
You can go for 5130 CPU ( HP Part no. 416888-B21 )Which is the recommended processor upgrade for your server.

Shan

Re: CPU change on ML350 G5 - DC to QC
Many thanks for your reply. Actually I was wondering, if I could reuse the existing HS and VRM with a newer CPU?
