CPU temp. threshold on ML350 G3

currenltly the CPU temp threshold is set to 60C n the board one is 52C. are they any method we can change this figure..because my CPU at air con room already running around 52C with no load (the server still in testing). i sure it will reach the threshold when the air con is off n high load.

thanks...

Re: CPU temp. threshold on ML350 G3

Have you tried to put a large fan in front of the server while it is not in an airconditioned space? One sure way to reduce the internal heat in the server is to force air through it.
Enjoy!

Re: CPU temp. threshold on ML350 G3

eh...putting a fan there is not a good idea lah..because purchase a extra fan also has lot of problem because need to get this n that approval.

anyway, there is a 12" fan use to suck out the air for the CPU, but it not run at full speed one. it only run at full speed during POST. i thought it will spin according to the temp. seem not...

Re: CPU temp. threshold on ML350 G3

heh... not inside the server... I mean a room fan. If you cannot add A/C to the room, perhaps you can place a fan in front of the server and force more air through it. This movement can realy keep the inside temp tollerable.
Enjoy!

Re: CPU temp. threshold on ML350 G3

it is really help much??because the proccesor area is being cover n that area has a 12" fan to suck out all the heat one..the fan at outside mostly can help to cool down the board only woo..that is my thought lah .. :)

Re: CPU temp. threshold on ML350 G3

Air must be moving through the server... so the best method is to push it... not pull it. Put your floor fans in front of the server.
Enjoy!
