CPU upgrade 266 to 300
Hi there. I'm trying to upgrade a Proliant 1600R (6/266) E34 from it's original PII 266 to a PII 300. I installed the PII 300 and on boot, up after initializing the memory, the message on screen said that the processor has been initialized at 266 MHz 512kb. I have already upgraded to all the latest BIOS, Rompaqs and array controller Bioses.
Are there any jumpers I need to set on the main board ? How do I set the CPU speed in the system configuration on F10 ? What is the highest processor speed I can upgrade to ? Your help is greatly appreciated.
P.S. I am planning on installing win2k fresh on this machine. It is currently running NT4 Server.

Re: CPU upgrade 266 to 300
Hi, the highest speed for this server is 300mhz and there is a Core Bus/core ration setting. Look at the side panel for more info the switch is called sw1. You also might want to run the f10 to select the full tabl map option in the systmem configuration option (f10). Hope this will help.
