CPU upgrade for ML150 G5 (problem with E5450 processor)

Since E5405 CPU (came with the box) is in the same line as E5450 so I thought that processor upgrade should be a breeze...

According to Intel the chipset should support 3GHz Xeon processor (1333Mhz FSB with 9x multiplier) without any problem.

However on power-up fan noise remains high and diagnostic light starts blinking after a while, and no bios screen is shown.

I did upgrade to the latest BIOS version 2009.07.06 - the change log (for 2008.10.02) has said: "Added support for the latest Dual-Core Intel Xeon 5200-series and Quad-Core Intel Xeon 5400-series processors"

Does anyone one know what is the highest CPU upgrade permissible for ML150 G5?

OR better yet - what can I try to make it work?

Hi there - I'm contemplating switching over to 2 x E5450's - did you have any luck with this?
