I am currently a student studying network administration. I am looking at buying a proliant1850r dual pII 450. I was wondering what are the cpu upgrade possibilities? I can find very little info about it.
Thanks
Rich B.

Re: CPU upgrade possibilities
Take a look at this doc:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/supportinformation/techpubs/qrg/proliant1850r.pdf
The 600Mhz processor for the 1850r = SP#155592-001 which includes the Heatsink from Compaq will run you about $650.00 shipped.

SolutionAlso, my original message was not complete. I just looked at your original message again and the doc's again, you will also need to buy the I/O board to upgrade to PIII processors. SP#155350-001 will run around $700.00 as well. This would turn into a money pot before long. If you are just going to use this to study with, a dual 400 is still a nice box.
