CREATE RAID 1 FROM A DISK WITH DATA
Hi.
A customer has a ML-350 with 136 Gb disk with the Operating System mount over a Smart Array 621 controller. We want to install another disk to create a RAID 1 (Mirror). is it possible to create Raid 1 in background?, I can't stop the server more than a few hours.
Thanks.

Hi,
Yes it is possible if there is Array controller Utility (ACU) installed.

Re: CREATE RAID 1 FROM A DISK WITH DATA
Jarkko,
I too have an ML-350 G5 with one (SAS) drive. I've purchased a 2nd (SAS) drive and want to mirror it. I have the e200i controller.
If I power down the box down, insert the 2nd drive and power it up, will it automatically mirror the 1st drive to the 2nd and preserve my data or do I need to run ACU?
Thank you.
