Cache error

I'm having the following error when booting up a compaq proliant 6000 server. Does someone have adive on this. I'm thinking it could be processor or raid card.

post error 2ch220 runtime cache accelerator failure slot 1 reconfigure or replace.

Re: Cache error

It seems like the cache on your array controller has failed. Is the error in the ACU/ADU. If possible reboot the server to see if you get the error when the array controller initilizes on POST.
There’s your problem!!! This thing is set to EVIL!

Re: Cache error

It sounds like to me that the issue is not with an array accelerator, but the processor cache accelerator, also known as tag RAM.

It caches one of the two processor buses (sets of four processors).

Refer to http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=PSD_EH991119_CW01 for more information.

Re: Cache error

I may have to retract my remark...

The Proliant 6000 did not have this architecture. It was essentially the Proliant 8000 (which looked almost identically on the outside to the 6000), the 8500, and the DL760.

Yet the message is almost dead on. You may want to verify the server model.
