Cache on DL760 G2

Where the cache sockets on DL760 G2 are located?
We are getting errors from CIM Post error 220 Runtime Cache Accelerator failure (socket 1) but we can't find where is that socket :(

Re: Cache on DL760 G2

I think the error is about accelerator for the chipset. Look at the documents on the folloving page:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DocumentIndex.jsp?contentType=SupportManual&locale=en_US&docIndexId=179911&taskId=101&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=316553

Check the ProLiant DL760 Generation 2 Server Maintenance and Service Guide and other documents there.

Re: Cache on DL760 G2

Bostjan,

I have read both User and Maintenance manual for DL760. But there is nothing there about replacing of system cache and where it is located :(
From this link http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c00190233
it seems that it should be 2 slots for cache somewhere, but we have looked everywhere inside and couldn't find them :(

Re: Cache on DL760 G2

Access to F9 from Advanced Options: Click for Set Cache Accelerator Corrected. An additional Reset might be required, and Verify system ROM to the Latest.

KOV,

Will try. You mean that it may be not a hardware error?

Yes Yury, Power Down system Reset CPU Boards, restart access to F9.... Let us know after

Re: Cache on DL760 G2

KOV,

We have tried to do this. Also upgraded BIOS, swapped CPUs, memory, replaced array controller.
The same error - Post error 220 Runtime Cache Accelerator failure (socket 1)
So seems that the problem is with system cache.
But where is this cache and how to replace it?

Re: Cache on DL760 G2

You can swap around Processors Boards and see if Problem follow Socket after Clearing NVRAM, if Problem still stays with socket 1 you might have to replace Processor and memory board, actual cage.

Yury

The Cache Accelerator chip is embedded on the processor baseboard (spare number 278466-001)├в ┬жreplacing the processor board (spare number 314379-001) will not resolve issue.
