Can 2 RAID controllers be connected to the internal drive cage of DL580G2 server
Hello,
We want to connect the internal drive cage from a DL580G2 server to two Smart Array Controllers, one part (2 disks) on the internal 5i controller en the other part (2 disks) on a 6402 controller.
This for performance issues.
Is this possible?
Kind regards,
Marc

HP ProLiant DL580 G3 features, that were also included in the HP ProLiant DL580 G2:
Simplex or Duplex configurable Wide Ultra3/U320 Duplex Drive Cage

What this means is that you can connect 2 SCSI connections to the drive cage. I think that you have to order the Duplex kit seperate on top of the server - someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Can 2 RAID controllers be connected to the internal drive cage of DL580G2 server
Hi,
Yes, this can be done by removing the second 5i cable from Port B on the backplane and making sure that the switch is set to DUPLEX (Which is the default).
Please see attached document which shows the necessary items.
I hope this helps.
