Can 3rd party NVME be installed on ML350p Gen8 ?

Hello All,

I have 2 3rd-party "M.2 2280" NVMe-s with a "M.2 2280" to "PCIE" adapters. Do you think that I can run them on the ML350p Gen8's PCIE slots ?

Would that cause any issues?

I know that the RAID controller raises an "error" when it fails to read 3rd party Disks (HDD/SSD) connected to it and this causes the system to go 100% on the fans. Is it the same with PCIE devices that do not have compatible firmware ?

Checked the HPE quickspecs, the ML350pGen8 support the SSD ,and the p420i raid controller support the SSD as well.

But this model can not support the NVME ,if you require the NVME support, you should be purchase the ML350Gen9 or ML350Gen10 model.

According to the quickspecs , the system has enough PCI Express slots to accomodate the NVMe-s. Won't those work ?

NVME PCE-x16, use this but your own risk.

Hello,

We HPE never recommend 3rd party componnents in the HPE server as well as ML350pGen8 doesn't support NVMe drives.

ML350pGen8 Quickspace.
