The CPUs that are offered by HP for this server
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12577_na/12577_na.HTML
Celeron/Pentium D, 3040, 3050 are all manufactured with 65nm lithography. The E6300 is 45nm.
Check the motherboard model and see if you can find any info on it to see if it will support 45nm CPUs.
If HP uses a MB from another manufacturer, find the model number (on the motherboard itself) and look at the manufacturer's site.

Re: Can ML110 G4 use Intel E6300 65nm (1.86Ghz) ?
There are two factory models, the one with Xeon CPUs and the one with Pentium D CPUs. If they have the same motherboard, the new CPU will work.
If the factory models have different motherboards, the Pentium D models have 800MHz FSB. If the 800MHz motherboard does not auto adjust to the 1066, the new CPU will not work.
