Can not install PSP : Oracle Enterprise Linux on DL380 G5

There are DL380 G5 and also ML370 G5.
I installed "Oracle Enterprise Linux" on both.
But I got error during installation of HP PSP 7.80
Is there any incompatibility ?

Re: Can not install PSP : Oracle Enterprise Linux on DL380 G5

The error shows Oracle Enterprise Linux 5 could not be supported by PSP 7.80

There is no PSP for Oracle Enterprise Linux. You must be trying to use the PSPs provided for RedHat Linux. I know that Oracle Linux is based on RedHat Linux code.

But since there are no PSP or agents available for Oracle Enterprise Linux, you may not be able to install the PSPs meant for another operating system (RedHat).

Re: Can not install PSP : Oracle Enterprise Linux on DL380 G5

So is there any way to install RHEL5 PSP on Oracle Linux manually ?
When does HP provide PSP for Oracle Linux?
Thanks and Regards.

Re: Can not install PSP : Oracle Enterprise Linux on DL380 G5

HP currently provides support for Suse, RedHat and Debian.
Ubuntu, Mandriva, CentOS, Fedora, Knoppix, or any other Linux distribution is not supoorted and there's no warranty that HP drivers or tools will work on it.

Re: Can not install PSP : Oracle Enterprise Linux on DL380 G5

I've installed the HP health monitors on several systems running CentOS (another RHEL clone) with no problems. You probably just need to temporarily replace /etc/redhat-release with a copy of the file from a RHEL system, install the HP software, and restore the original version of the file.

But don't expect help from HP if you have problems with the software.
