Can't deploy a new server, stuck on OS
Hi,
I have an old Proliant DL360 G3 which I'd like to deploy again with Win 2003 Std
I downloaded HP SamrStart V8.25 and booted the server from it
No matter which OS version I choose (2003, 2003 r2, HP branded or not) I keep on getting the same warning message and I cannot proceed with the installation
Please insert the correct operating system media and click Ok. Choose Cancel to return to the SmartStart Home Page.
(see attached)
I've double checked the medias I am using and they are perfectly fine.
Any ideas? basically I have a piece of metal and circuit boards now....
Thanks

Re: Can't deploy a new server, stuck on OS
If smart Start is not helping to install the OS, I would suggest install the OS directly and if prompted use the controller drivers on a usb key to detect the hard drives

Re: Can't deploy a new server, stuck on OS
Thank you very much for the prompt reply.
I already tried booting directly from the OS media however I get a message
NTLDR is missing
This message appears also if I tried to boot with an older version of SmartStart

Re: Can't deploy a new server, stuck on OS
hi,
This problem may occur, if the BIOS on your server is outdated. PLease check and update it.
Thanks

Re: Can't deploy a new server, stuck on OS
I managed to install an OS using SmartStart and an iso image of an Open Lic Win 2K3 R2 (not HP branded) which was stored on network share
