Can't figure which model Proliant Server I have
I just recently picked up a Proliant Server, the person said it was the 7000 series. He couldn't remember what it was and had looked up the images on google.
Well, when I got it and I turned it on, it comes up with Proliant 6000!
Weird part is, its in a 7000 case, not the 6000 cases.
This is what it prints to screen when it boots:
Model # 56022
LCD Firmware 1.9
System Bios E20
4 System Procs, 200/66 MHz w/512KB Cache
Or maybe I got it off the LCD, don't remember.
I noticed theres PPro version of the 7000.
Is it a 7000 that possible someone put a 6000 system board in?
Or maybe the early 7000's were called 6000's?
Shouldn't trust the pictures I see on google?
I'd like to know what software I need to get for it.
It's currently has Windows 2000 on it, but I haven't actually gotten it to boot to a desktop yet. I have no problem reinstalling any OS's on it, just want to get the correct drivers and stuff for it first.
If anyone knows of any sites that has info on the proliants, aimed more for a person learning, then a full time admin, if you could pass it along I'd be greatly appreciative of it.
thanks

Re: Can't figure which model Proliant Server I have
Get the serial number from your system and go to the following web page.
http://h50001.www5.hp.com/ewc/EntResultRouter
Enter your country, and Entitlement Option (Choose All) then enter the serial number and click "Get Entitlement".
You should get back information on your model and build date etc.
Regards,
Brian

------
Information
One or more warranty systems are not accessible, and no warranty is returned from available systems.

Do I need to enter the system info into my account or something?

Re: Can't figure which model Proliant Server I have
Okay, I guess this is a supid question, but how I do find what it's serial number is?
And the other thing, if the E20 is the 6000 series, but it's in a 7000 case, doesn't that just mean any of the mb that are for the 7000 case would work in it?
The problem is, do I download the 6000 series pdf's, even though it's in a 7000 series case?
