Can we use 300GB HDD in the place of failure 146GB HDD in HP sever having RAID-1 configuration

Hello All, I am using HP Proliants and have a question regarding a server running Windows 2003 Server. It's a ProLiant DL360 G5 with a Raid 1 Mirror (having two HDD of 146GB). One of 146GB drive failed and I want to replace it, but we have 300GB HDD. Can we use this 300GB HDD in the place of failure 146GB HDD. The details of HDD are as below. Failure HDD Details: Make – HP HP Model – DG146BB976 Capacity – 146GB 10K SAS

New Available HDD Details : Make – HP HPE Model – EG0300FCVBF Capacity – 300GB 10K SAS

Yes you can replace the failed drive with one of a larger capacity. It will only use 146GB of space. once the rebuild is complete you could look into replaceing the other 146GB drive with a second 300 GB and then expand the array to the new size
