Cant boot after change the array controller
I RD (rapid deployment) a pair of DL 380 G3's HD and shipped it to our remote site for them to install on it. But I didn't realize that their DL 380 G3 is using 6400 Array controller as the boot array controller and when I RD the HDs, the machine was using 5i. So now when the system boots, it will start OS 2003, then it reboots. any idea how I can install the 6400's driver without booting into the OS? Thanks in advance

Re: Cant boot after change the array controller
It some what like controller migration to a new one.
I was checking the listed option for you on:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&objectID=c00180566
But not able to find 5I to 6400 path.
but i dont think there is easy way to update the driver when Os is offline.
But OS Repair option may work.

Re: Cant boot after change the array controller
I think you can try boot from ERD commander (or Hiren Boot CD, or similar tool, or do second windows installation on this server), load HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet registry hive and apply Steven Clementi registry file

I don't sure if it will help, but you can try...

Re: Cant boot after change the array controller
Just swap the cable back to the 5i, let it boot up, install the latest PSP, shutdown, move the cable back to the 6400, power up, select the 6400 as your boot controller, and you should be all good.
