Re: Changing Proliant Serial Numbers
Hi Jimmy,
I've also stumbled upon this now due to a HP tech changing the mainboard on a ProLiant ML350 G6 and forgetting to transfer the product and serial number. Could you please throw me a pm with your solution as well?
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Changing Proliant Serial Numbers
Good morning,
I have been trying to access the links below regarding the setsys utility but I am unable to open them.
Does anyone have or know of a link that works as I am urgently trying to update the serial number of a DL160 G5.

Re: Changing Proliant Serial Numbers
Go to the driver pages, specify your DL160 G5 server. Select english language and DR-DOS as OS. See Utilities:

Setsys Utility for HP ProLiant 100 series G5 and G6 Servers (For USB Key-Media).
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Changing Proliant Serial Numbers
Hi,
a few BL2x220c G5 bladeservers have lost their serial numbers.
If there is a way to fix this remotely please let me know.
I also need to update product IDs.
Rebooting the servers is not a big problem, but accessing RBSU in boot is a bit of a nuisance.

Re: Changing Proliant Serial Numbers
OK, it was not very hard, although I did not find a fully scriptable way.
This is how I changed the serial numbers and product-ids remotely:
- shut down the server one way or another
- SSH Administrator@OA-IP-address
- CONNECT SERVER xx
- VSP
- start the server one way or another
- hit escape and niner then prompted in vsp, be quick enough
- SET SN xxxx
- SET PID xxx
- EXIT
- server starts
- hit escape and '(' to exit the vsp
I needed to reboot the OA to see the "new" serial numbers and product IDs.
