Checking BIOS version online

Hi,

Can anybody tell me how can I check the BIOS version of my DL380 G2 server running Windows 2000 online? I checked the registry and the system information but it only provided me with the BIOS version date. The server is live and can only restart the server during the weekends so Im looking for posibilities to run on weekdays. Thanks.

Re: Checking BIOS version online

Hi!
You can check bios ver from HP System Managment Homepage, if it installed in system.
If not, download last version PSP, and apply. (snmp required)

Re: Checking BIOS version online

All ProLiant's BIOS is released by dates you can still see version for Update and Family, but mainly it goes by dates

Easy to find
Start > Programs > Accessories> system Tools> system Information = see for BIOS

. You can simulate Update by using Online Firmware Update; it will report one that installed
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/20867.html

. You can search for syrvey.txt or survey.lastsession.xml file for ROM info

from POST ... etc

Re: Checking BIOS version online

YOu can run an online Smart Component Update as well. It should tell you the current version installed. You do not have to proceed with the install, it is just to get the info, then close it out
