Cloning/Ghosting DL360's

I am trying to clone/ghost DL360's running Windows 2000 with Terminal Services. We have tried using Symantec Ghost but later found out that they do not support ghosting with Smart Array controllers.

Can you suggest any method or utility that can be used to ghost Windows 2000 Terminal Servers with Smart Array Controllers

Re: Cloning/Ghosting DL360's

Maybe it's not supported but it works. We're using Ghost 6.5 on DL machines and
Ghost 5.1C on older models like 1850R (because 6.5 doesn't work there).

Can you give any specifics you had to try? We're using 2000 Advanced Server on the DL360 and we get to the "Starting Windows 2000" screen then it just sits there. Any hint on what may be the issue?

Nevermind, we go it. We Smartstarted the machines first and it worked fine.

Re: Cloning/Ghosting DL360's

I have found a solution to cloning of Terminal Server that will preserve the M: drive remapping done by Metaframe.

Firstly DO NOT install compaq networking teaming driver and this will cause sysprep to hange and you will not get past the setup stage once the image has been downloaded onto the server.

Secondly, use Ghost with the -fdsp switch to preserve disk sigantures, this keeps the M: drive intact and does not remap it which stops you logging into the sever once you have gone through setup
