Cluster failover and NIC teaming and VPN
Hi
My setup is a two node MSCS cluster on Windows 2003.
One LAN and an ISA firewall with VPN access.
A file share on the cluster is accessible regardless of the node it's active on, except for VPN clients.
NODE1 active VPN clients access is OK, when group is moved to NODE2 local LAN clients work fine but not VPN clients.
NIC:s are teamed in 3COM switch.
Any ideas?

Re: Cluster failover and NIC teaming and VPN
Per,
Is the VPN connection pointing to the cluster name/IP address or the NODE1 name/address? Is there a local account on NODE1 that is not on NODE2? Passwords match?

Re: Cluster failover and NIC teaming and VPN
All clients are laptops and they work fine when connected to the LAN, regardless of the active node, hence they're using the clustered IP address.

Re: Cluster failover and NIC teaming and VPN
Per,
Is there a firewall rule in ISA that directs VPN traffic to NODE1 IP address rather than cluster IP address?
What error messages are you getting from VPN clients when NODE2 is active? Are the VPN users in a separate group? Are there share permissions (Everyone/Read Only) assigned to the NODE2 share?
