Compaq BIOS Boot CD

I'm trying to build a test server out of a Compaq Proliant 6400r

I can boot to the Compaq System configuration but I cannot boot from any other CD. So I tried to enter the bios but there doesn't seem to be an option. I've tried the function keys and CTRL-S but nothing. How does one enter the BIOS of a Compaq Proliant 6400r?

Re: Compaq BIOS Boot CD

You have to press F10, but to do this you have to have compaq utility partition. If you don't have them, you can to option:
1. Create utility partition using Compaq SmartStart CD, or
2. Create support diskettes, boot using such diskettes and enter server configuration.

Just to add to this, if you want to create a non-dos, system partition on the system, use Smart-start version 5.50. Later versions don't support this. Good luck.

Re: Compaq BIOS Boot CD

the problem lied in the CDs, but still unable to get to system partition with F10, I am able to see the prompt "F10 for System Partition" but it goes by too fast and then boots to the OS
