Compaq DL360 G1, F10 Disappeared

Hi,

after a re-install, the system partition has been deleted. Now i do not have the F10 option anymore.

What is, or is there, the procedure to recreate the partition and fill it.

Is this possible AFTER Windows 2003 is installed?
I do have a 32MB partition before the C: drive.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards,

Harold

It's only possible to get this partition to be installed properly when there are no existing partitions installed.

You will not likely get this installed correctly now. You can try to install it, but you will need to modify the boot.ini file and add a another line for the second partition (similar to this: multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)), otherwise the machine won't boot back up again.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

"... You can try to install it,..."

But how? With what?
Any link to software/guides?

The OS (W2k3) is installed on the second partition. The first partition is a 32MB partition not being used right now.

Is it possibel (and how) to reinstall the system partition on this empty first partition?

Thanks,

Harold

Sorry...

1. Download this:
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html
2. Run the file and create the four floppies when prompted to
3. Boot off of the first floppy and select the option to install at the menu.

Make sure you edit the boot.ini file FIRST, otherwise the server won't boot up again. Just add another OS selection in the file pointing to the second partition.
