Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
I have a ESX 4.1.0 and I loaded the management agents from SIM on the server, but when I do a snmpwalk to make sure it has the compaq OID for reporting, it doesn't show anything. I've tried manually installing the latest management agents from HP and doing it through SIM, but its the same result each time. I have verified the community strings and they all work and I am able to send test traps to SIM from the server, but can't monitor it with no OID. Server is a ML370 G6

Re: Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
hi,
You can try installing the MIB kit. You can find it here.

I tried that before as well. That is for systems that have HP SIM installed on them, so it doesn't work

Re: Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
We are using HP SIM. I have tried those agents and still the same issue. I have attached a screen shot of the OID's it collects from the system. It's weird because the SMH says the datasource is SNMP and it collects all of the hardware info. Not sure what is going on here.

Re: Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
hi,
I'm not sure what's your problem exactly. What happens, when you open SMH. Is it blank or you are missing only certainly info ?
Thanks

Re: Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
When SIM tries to collect the information on the server it says that it was unable to collect any information for it. Like the SN, hardware info, etc..

Re: Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
hi,
so..., you need to load the MIBs. Please try just for example with the drive array MIB - cpqida.mib (1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3).
OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.1.3 / it checks for status degraded (3) or failed (4) .
Thanks!

Re: Compaq OID not on system after loading Management Agents from SIM
hi,
... or just install the whole MIB pack on the SIM server.
