Compaq Proliant 1600

I need to install a new hard disk SCSI IBM ULTRASTAR 9.1GB in my Compaq Proliant 1600 6/266 M1 Server. It recognizes the hard disk and also I made the partition and formatted too with DOS format /s. But it doesn't boot.
It is recognized in Port 1 as ID 0. In the screen appears Press F10 partition utilities and then hangs up. I put the same disk in a compatible computer and it boots with no problems.

would it allow you to install F10 Partition ?
