Compaq Proliant 1600R Won't Power On.
I have a Compaq Proliant 1600R, and I cannot get the unit to power up. It has redundant power supplies, that when plugged in the fans (inside of the power supplies) are running. I have unseated/ reseated both the CPU and EXPANSION cages with no positive results. I have also jumped the switch and still have no positive results.
The switch block inside of the EXPANSION cage are all set to OFF, I have switched SW6 ON to reset CMOS, still no positive results.
Any help is appriciated. Thanks!

Re: Compaq Proliant 1600R Won't Power On.
I can remember seeing this with a 1600R but cannot remember what it was, sorry!
I would strip out as much hardware as possible - remove all cards (including raid controller), all but the primary processor, all but 64MB of RAM (or whatever the min config from the DIMMS available would be), leave just one PSU installed.
If that doesn't work swap the CPU.
If that doesn't work swap some RAM.
Hopefully that will work so add stuff back in gradually.
If it has the little display panel on the front, try disconnecting that as well.
HTH

Re: Compaq Proliant 1600R Won't Power On.
I butchered an old 1600R and found it was the backplane.
