We have this "error 1611-I/O Fan (Fan 3) Failure Detected. Critical Fan Failure Detected. System is shutting down in 5 seconds" in our Compaq Proliant 3000 server. It will take 30-45 days before we can receive the (new)replacement unit, please let us know on how to temporarily solve the problem. Is there any way to disable or тАЬbypassтАЭ this error message so that our server would bootup normally?
Below is our server's hardware details:
Compaq Proliant 3000
S/N: 7911BVX20059
Processor: Pentium II 450Mhz
Thank you very m

Re: Compaq Proliant 3000 Error 1611-I/O Fan Failure Detected
You can not start system without FAN.
You will "burn" it.
This is not true in any case :)
But It is internal logic :)

Re: Compaq Proliant 3000 Error 1611-I/O Fan Failure Detected
Fan failure message happens whenver the server starts post and if the post detects any issues with fan functionality you get the message. However the system completes the post but it shuts down because the server processor is not able to handle the heat produced. So never use the server without the fan. I would recommend to reseat the power cable for the fan.
Try this it should work

SolutionThere are a few of the fans for sale on EBAY. The spare part number is 306576-001 so try this on www.ebay.com as your search string.
I can see that you are based in the Phillipines but you may get something shipped quicker from Ebay in any case if you ask the sellers.
See the following: -

As suggested the system won't start up as a precaution due the 1611 fan error. There is an optional redundant fan kit which you may wish to consider for the future so that the system would at least keep going when a fan fails. Sales/Option part number is 306558-B21.
See the following Quickspec link for further details.

I hope this helps.
