Compaq Proliant ML370T01
Hello,
I have one of these servers, next week I will be upgrading the operating system from Windows 2000 Server to Windows Server 2003 SP1 R2.
Firstly I would like to ask, what version of the server do I have? I believe it is a G1, it is beige in colour, still branded as Compaq, also it has a P3/933/256 CPU.
Secondly, I have noticed in the BIOS upgrades section that P17 adds support for Windows Server 2003. Is this absolutely necessary? I am usually adverse to performing BIOS upgrades unless they are absolutely necessary.
Thirdly. Do the drivers that correspond to the 370 G1 on this site, branded HP, work with this server even though it is branded Compaq? Is the hardware identical?
The part number for this server is 161058-041.
Thanks for the advice, I hope you can help!

Re: Compaq Proliant ML370T01
Hi Craig O'Grady,
Has per the part number this is a:
ML370 Gen 1 PIII933 Tower (161058-041)
It is recommended to upgrade the BIOS to P17 if you would like to install Windows 2003.
http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/17423.html
Yes the hardware is identical and you could download the drivers from the HP website.
The complete list of Software, Drivers and firmware for ML370 G1 running windows 2003 could be downloaded from the follwoing link:

Regards,
Raj.
