Compaq Proliants

Do you know when Compaq first started to manufacture DL580 G1 servers

Do you know when Compaq first started to manufacture DL380 G2 servers

Do you know when Compaq first started to manufacture DL380 G3 servers

I am interested to know what year for each.

Thanks in advance

Re: Compaq Proliants

Hi.

The DL380 G2 was introduced late 2001

The DL380 G3 was introduced in Q3 2003.

Still trying to research the original DL580 though.

Re: Compaq Proliants

Hi.

It wasn't that far way. If I remember correctly the DL naming convention only came about in 2000.

I think the DL580 was only introduced in 2000 although it may have appeared as late as Q1 2001.

Re: Compaq Proliants

Hi Andy,

I did order a DL580 back in 2000 and it was already a current model so i did think a year or 2 older than this see attached piccy

Thanks

Tony.

Re: Compaq Proliants

Hi Tony

I haven't been able to find any documents referring to the DL580 or its part numbers 155617/8-001 earlier than 2000.

In addition the DL580 came with Intel Pentium III Xeon 700 and 900 Mhz processors. The 700's were released in May 2000 and the 900's in Mar 2001. There was a lower spec 700 released October 1999 but from what I can see it never got into the DL580.

If you have another part number for your server I might be able to track it and see the specs and work from there.

Unfortunately my records only go back as far as March 2001.

You might be able to view the history of your server by going to http://parts.hp.com and verifying the warantee with the part number and serial number.
