Compaq Serial Number on ML370 G2
Previously with the ML370 1GHz platform, i could retrieve the Compaq Serial Number with the following command:
serialno=`doscat /dev/hd02:system.chl | grep "System Identification" | awk '
{print $5}'`
With the G2 I can pull it usually through the command
/etc/hw -vr bios | tail -1 | awk '{print $1}'
This is not always reliable. Does anyone know another way to pull the Compaq Serial Number programmatically through SCO?
