Compaq array config utility
Hello
we upgraded our w2k server to windows 2003.
on w2k there was the compaq array config utility ( Gui).
Now we wanted to deinstall this utility.
How does this work?

the acu and acu xe (browser based) tool use the array controller driver to communicate with the smart controller.

all you need to do is to delete the links to acu if you want to use acu xe instead

this will leave some dead files on your disk (2 to 5 mb - i think your disk is big enough that you will not recognize this).

all that is really important is:
keep your drivers uptodate
keep the smart fw uptodate
keep the acu xe uptodate
let the unused acu files rest in peace on your disk.

history: acu was renamed acu xe when the browser version came out. now the old acu is no longer supported and acu xe has been renamed acu.
