Can Intel Xeon 700Mhz processors be used in a DL580 x900 machine and still run at 700Mhz? We just recently tried this (all 4 processors are 700mhz) and when the machine boots it's identifying all 4 processors as 200mhz/100. I also noticed that 2 of the processors have a stepping of 1 and the others are set to 4, from a previous post this appears to be a bad thing as they should all fall into a range of N+1.

Yes that's possible. Change switch 4 on your motherboeard to
1= on
2= off
3=on
4=off

then it will work. See also on the backside of the cover of your server.
