I have just received a new ML370 to configure. The original plan had been to install 3 sets of mirrored drive arrays each with their own controller. Looking inside I see that the drive cage is wired to one controller and that it doesn't seem possible to wire a second controller to disks in that cage to control them independently.
If I am to achieve the goal of 3 mirrored arrays under independent control what do I have to do to achieve it? Do I have to install a second drive cage and an external drive as well?

hi
yes you need another drive cage in order to use another controller
ML370 G5 SAS SFF 8-bay Drive Cage Kit
NOTE: 2nd drive cage requires a storage controller.

Re: Configure multiple drive arrays on ML370 G5
Thanks for the advice. I must say that I am surprised by this limitation in the server's design: in the past I have used less sophisticated servers that have offered greater flexibility in disk configuration.
