Connect DL380 G7 to MSA 500 G2

Hi, I want to connect my MSA500 G2 to my new DL380 G7 server. Can I use a PCIe-PCIx riser (494322-B21 HP DL38X PCI-X riser kit (1) PCI-X, (1) x8, (1) x4)) to connect an Smart Array 642 Controller?. I don┬┤t know if this controller will fit into the server (it┬┤s too long). Are there another HBA SCSI for this server to connect to a MSA500?.

Re: Connect DL380 G7 to MSA 500 G2

Hi Pablo,

I'm looking for the same solution but for a DL360 G7 Server.

I found this PCI-X Riser
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF06c/A1-329290-3320517-3965977-3965977-426826-3914665.html

But I'm not sure, I'm still looking, because I have to connect a Tape Backup too, so I need 2 SCSI ports.

Dou you have success in your search?

Thanks..!!

I only use the riser for NICs for network. I usually put fiber cards and SAS controllers in the main slots.
