Connecting External RAID array

I am trying to connect an external RAID array to my HP ML370 G4 system. This system has an array manager built in. Does anyone know if this will also be able to manage the external RAID array that I am attaching?

Hello Tim,

1.Whats the external storage box model,scsi or Fc?
2.Whats the controller on ML370 G4?
3.Are you referring to Array Configuration Utility when you say array manager built in.

It is a SCSI connected Array, I have a Smart Array 6400 Controller and a LSI Ultra320 Scsi 2000 series card in the system, and yes I am refering to the HP Array config. utility.

If you are using MSA 20,MSA30 or MSA500,ACU can manage the external raid.

Not too sure about MSA50.

Can you define what MSA is?

I was hopeing to connect a Dell Powervault system to it so I don't need to buy new hardware? Is this possible?

MSA is external storage box which holds scsi disks more or less the same like Dell Powervault.
Though i have'nt used 3rd party DAS box,go ahead and see if ACU sees the box.
If it does'nt, you have to go for the MSA.
