Connecting NC7131 to Catalyst 6500 at 1000Mbps?

I'm having problems connecting DL580 with NC7131 to Catalyst 6500 (module WS-X6316-GE-TX) at 1Gb. The NC7131 will only connect at 1Gb using negotiation (you can't fix the 1Gb speed) according to the docs. OTOH the Cisco module won't do auto negotiation (since it is only capable of 1Gb speed anyway)...
Anyone knows a resolution to this one?

The Cisco end does support negotiation - but it's not negotiating speed, it's for link flow control (very useful) and other parameters like half/full-duplex.
You can check the negotiated parms on the Cisco with the sho po slot/port command.
