Connectivity during teaming

Connectivity during teaming

I have a server in the production environment that currently only has one NIC connected. I want to connect the 2nd NIC and team them. When I do this, will I lose connectivity? Will the team get it's IP settings from one of the NIC's or will it be created with a standard IP config i.e DHCP?

Re: Connectivity during teaming

Hello Ian,

if you configure a teaming, the ip addresses of the teaming members will be deleted, and a new, now virtual nic, will be created. This NIC is configured for DHCP until you configure a static ip address.

Thanks. I will plan for an outage of the server when I team the NICS. Regards

Re: Connectivity during teaming

there is a "cpqniccmd" (maybe now hpniccmd) utility wich supplied with the right .xml file will team your nic's in no-time.
