Control fan speed on HP ProLiant ML10 Gen9

Hello,

My HP ProLiant ML10 Gen9 is working just fine but the noisy fan is a bit annoying. I installed SpeedFan like I did on my previous server but running SpeedFan causes my server to crash. Fan speed changes to low, then to high, followed by a reboot.

Any ideas how to get SpeedFan to work or to lower fan speed? I have a PWM controller but I wonder whether there's any better way?

Hi Chris,

seems that G9 has issues with fan control... check my post for possible similarity... maybe a common solution will exists

Hi @ChrisVH

Reseat the ambient sensor cable for problem fix and latest bios update.

if problem persist, replace this parts 42937-001 - Fan module 92x92x25mm - For use with ML10 Gen9 /  842940-001 - SPS-Heatsink ML10 Gen9

Kind Regards,
Erdogan.
