Controller Card - G3 dl380
Hello, i have a compaq 35/70 GB DLT drive that i'd like to connect to my G3 but i'm not sure which controller card is correct. Tape specs recommend a 32- Bit Fast - Wide SCSI-2 or higher. Thanks for the help.

Re: Controller Card - G3 dl380
Is it 50 or 80 pin. Just get a controller that matches the pin out. 50 pin requires SCSI-2 connection. Check with the SCSI controllers for your server specs.

Re: Controller Card - G3 dl380
This server has a 5i controller embedded and has a VHDCI connector on the rear of the server on bus 1 of the controller. If you do decide to use the 5i you will need to make sure that port 1 on the controller is not being used for any drives internally. If you attach it to the 5i you will also need a VHDCI to 68 pin HD cable for the drive.
The tape drive should work off of the 5i, but a separate PCI controller can be installed in the be which has wide scsi support.

The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..
