Convert Raid 0 to Raid 1
I have installed a Dl 380 G4 server with Single SCSI Hard disk. Installed Windows 2003 in the server with Raid 0 Configuration. Now i want to add one more drive in the server and create mirror with the existing drive. is it possible to convert Raid 0 drive to mirror with another drive to make it Raid 1+0 without loosing the Operating system in the server ????
Server is DL380 G4.

Re: Convert Raid 0 to Raid 1
I would certainly take a backup of the OS before doing this.
There's always some risk.
I do know that doing this on a SATA Array where the array is enabled in the BIOS makes an OS installed on a JBOD unbootable. Mainly because the array driver isn't installed.
I think you're on safer ground with the SCSI Array. But I'd still ensure things were backed up or you had a recovery strategy in mind before starting.
