Copying a Raid 0 Disk
Hope you can help.
I have a 9.1 Ultra 2 Scsi Raid 0 Disk with Data on it. The drive has failed.
Is there any way of copying the data from it to another Raid 0 9.1 Scsi Disk.
I know that the drive has crapped out but I'd like to know what the procedure whould be so I can try it anyway.
Cheers.

Re: Copying a Raid 0 Disk
Drive isn't totally gone.. yet. Still am able to use it but it does fail intermittantly.
I've had a suggestion to use Bart PE to copy the data over to a new disk.
Will give it a go and let you know how I get on.

Re: Copying a Raid 0 Disk
Get a new drive, the same as the defect one.
Boot linux from another disk an do:
dd if=/dev/sd[x] of=/dev/sd[y] bs=64k
Wait, and there you are.

Re: Copying a Raid 0 Disk
Build OS (in my case w2k3) on the target disk. (to make active)
Insert both (source and target) disks and make sure that the both logical drives can be seen by the array controller.
Boot from Bart PE CD. F6 To enter correct array drivers if necessary.
Delete all files on Target (using file explorer tool) copy all Files from source onto Target.
And thats it.
