Creating a virtual machine from an HP Proliant ML350 G6 server using VMware Converter

I need to create a VM starting from an HP Proliant ML350 G6 server using a P410i RAID controller with SAS disks and Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit).

My goal is creating a VM to be used with VMware Workstation for pure testing purposes.

I can consider using different solutions if I presume they work...

I have a backup created using Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2011.

I use VMware Converter and I can create a VMware Workstation VM, but while converting the backup I can only specify an IDE disk controller.

When the VM starts I get an error from "Windows Boot Manager" saying that a required device cannot be accessed.

Have anybody faced a similar problem?

Is there any way to tell Windows use the converted (IDE?) disk or simulating a P410i RAID controller?

Regards

Hi!  Did you ever solve this?  I need to do the same thing with an ML350 G9 running Server 2008 R2 migrating to vmware or hyper-V.  Any help would be appreciated!
