DAT 20/40 GB jumper settings for compression

Can anyone point me to an online doc which describes how to check the jumper settings for a 20/40 GB DAT tape drive internal to a Proliant 350 server ?

I want to make sure that hardware compression is enabled, because I'm only getting 20 GB to tape and it's compressible data, so sounds like compression isn't enabled.

Thanks.

David, just wondering what kind of throughput your getting on your backups. Check for soft and hard write errors to the tape.

David,

The switch settings I pointed out in my earlier post are for Unix only and I would suspect you are not running Unix. The settings should be default for PC/PC server configs:

See page 11: http://h200005.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/lpg28863/lpg28863.pdf

I would recommend calling into the HP helpdesk if you are at this configuration. Are you in the US?

Ciao,
